Yes. Berks County, Pennsylvania sits just north-east of our Ephrata base in Lancaster County, and it is one of the shorter drives we make. We work Reading, Wyomissing, Sinking Spring, Birdsboro, Boyertown, Kutztown, Hamburg and Fleetwood, and the boroughs and townships in between.
Older, and that changes the job. Reading and the surrounding boroughs have a great deal of housing stock from the 1950s through the 1970s, and those basements are poured concrete slabs that have now had fifty to seventy years of service. What that means in practice: a thin slab in places, no vapor barrier beneath it, tooled or saw-cut control joints that have opened up, cracks that have moved, and spalling — the top quarter inch flaking away, usually worst near a floor drain, under an old water heater, or along a wall where the wet has wicked in.
Considerably more, and it is the part of the job that decides whether the floor lasts. On a Berks County basement we expect to chase cracks out to a V and fill them with a rigid polyurea that bonds to the crack walls, rather than a caulk that stays soft and moves. We grind back the loose edges of every spalled area and rebuild those areas up to level before any color goes down. We honor control joints that are still doing a job and fill the ones that are not. Then diamond grinding across the whole floor, never acid etching — an old carbonated slab is exactly the surface acid ruins, because it softens paste that is already weak and leaves residue behind. Bare slab, ground slab and finished floor are shown side by side on how it works.
No, and anyone who tells you otherwise is selling you a callback. A coating is not a waterproofing system. On older Berks County slabs we check for moisture before we quote — a taped sheet test, and calcium chloride testing when the reading is borderline — because vapor pushing up through the slab will blister a coating off no matter how well it was ground. If there is active water we will say so, and say what needs to happen first. Where the slab is dry, a ground and coated floor is a genuine upgrade: it stops the dusting, it seals the surface so the room stops smelling like a basement, and it wipes clean. Details on basement floor coating.
Berks is close enough that we can usually look at a floor within the week. Most single basements and garages are still a one-day install, but an old slab with a lot of spall repair can need the repair work on one day and the coating on the next. We would rather tell you that at the estimate than rush a patch that has not cured. Foot traffic four to six hours after the last clear, vehicles about twenty-four.
Yes, all year. An unheated Berks County basement or detached garage in the middle of winter is still a working day for us, because polyaspartic cures in temperatures that stop epoxy from hardening properly at all. That matters in older housing stock where the basement has no heat run to it.
Garage work is covered on garage floor coating, the blends are on colors and finishes, and contact gets you on the schedule.

No hot-tire pickup, no ambering in sunlight, and the apron where the door meets the driveway gets the same treatment as the rest.

We check the slab for moisture first, then grind it open so the coating keys into the concrete instead of sitting on residue.

A textured finish that stays grippy wet and does not yellow, because polyaspartic is UV-stable.
Tell us the room, roughly how big it is and when you want it done. We will measure, look at the slab and give you a price that does not move.
